Static Powders is a Warrnambool-based powder coating supply company specialising in the supply of powder coating products all over Australia.
Originally selling their supplies on eBay, it was time to broaden the horizons and create a purpose-built website.
Static Powders is a market challenger, delivering quality supplies at a highly competitive price point - from the powders themselves right through to their special shipping rates.
The Technology
Static Powders has a main website which functions as a content hub where powder coating guides and articles can be published. The main website is build on Rocketspark CMS, which has excellent native SEO and accessibility properties, and allows for a low-maintenance solution.
Using this platform means we can quickly generate static pages and content, focussing on growth and becoming the authority on DIY powder coating instead of worrying about the basics (technical maintenance, backups, security etc) which are already covered.
Numerous integrations and configurations have been implemented to ensure we deliver highly competitive shipping rates no matter where people are based. A significant amount of time went into testing a multitude of fulfilment services to find the best rates. Once found, a lot of tweaking and fine-tuning was done to ensure we stand out, and this continues to be a major focus area.
The Design
We took a basic Shopify theme, proceeding to extensively customise the HTML, CSS and interactivity. Both the primary Rocketspark website and online store feature custom styled buttons and animations uniquely flavoured to Static Powders.
Colours and gradients used throughout the website are sampled from Static Powders' logo, with a variety of shades used. Dark metallic finishes are present throughout, a direct nod to the nature of the surface which powder coating is applied to.
When customising the website, we strategically modified the code in a way which ensures the theme continues to receive updates from Shopify without impacting the website. In other words, less time worrying about maintenance headaches down the track, more time free to actively grow and evolve.
The SEO
A tremendous amount of thought has been placed into designing and developing the website while aiding; never compromising, Search Engine Optimisation.
Without discussing specific optimisation strategies, both seen and unseen methods are on Static Powders' website, ensuring they're top in their industry for searches. We actively monitor and look for new ways to stay competitive and deliver a great experience for website visitors.
